Plot has a firebreak cut through unit (about 20' wide, all trees felled and cut up) as well as about 15% of plot that was burned. Lots of PTAQ in firebreak. Lower branches on several trees cut up to enhance firebreak. Fire was possibly late 2011, because photo doesn't shoe it but maybe from B of B? The plot center is near the top of a butte and plot includes several aspects. N-facing plot center and the hilltop just SW of center is open cinder area. Far SSW part of plot includes an old PSME forest on a concave slope. Fire break crosses SW corner of plot to N, crossing summit. W to N edge of plot includes scattered PICO, TSME & ABLA as is the E edge is in a stand of burned snags and Ceanothus velutinus thicket. Slope 29%. Aspect 106°. Abundance code: 1; young isidia globular; Most lichens found in PSME stand, including dense ALESAR as well as several Hypogymnia spp., Cetraria spp. and Platismatia spp. Substrate: ABGR tw. Phenology: isidia.
