Sparse small hackberry, about 10' tall populate the N-facing slope. Larger, taller hackberry, up to 12" dbh and 30' tall-- fill the draw and are overtopped by Himalayan blackberry. Some of the hackberry in the draw have moss. About 15% of the moss on at least one tree bole was dying. Disturbance heavy. Riparian vegetation is choked and overgrown by Himalayan blackberry, which has filled the draw. Some cheatgrass (26-50% cover) and other weeds. Curiously, lack of cow grazing may favor blackberry. Pittsburg Formation (sedimentary and metamorphosed intrusive and volcanic rocks). Slope 100%. Aspect 360°.
