A diverse riparian forest. The most abundant tree species is ABCO, which has a young and also a mature cohort. They grew up under the canopy of giant PSME, which are scattered throughout plot. The TABR also appear quite old. Total canopy cover is 80-85%, with gaps. Many hardwoods creating an understory mosaic dispersed throughout plot. Herb layer is thick (~95% cover) and diverse but nonetheless typical of riparian community. Mosses are thick and abundant, covering at least 10 times the amount of surface area covered by lichens. Too much shade, perhaps? Slope 4%. Aspect 360°. Abundance code: 4-2. Substrate: PSME bo.
