From Highway 2 take the Index-Galena Road to Forest Service Road 63 0.6 miles past bridge across North Fork Skykomish River. Walked old road Forest Service Road 63-390. Went below road at first switchback. GPS at second switchback.

Coniferous forest with hemlock, Douglas fir, and sword-fern. Substrate: bark of large old growth Douglas fir. Apothecia .3 mm, stalk and head brown, spores ellipsoid allantoid 6 to 7, asci 32 to 38, stalk swells in K, K - negative. See EB# L5034 and L5034B same collection. Substrate: corticolous.
