General vegetation type: Mature conifer forest with a sparse understory. Dominant associated plants: Pseudotsuga menziesii, Pinus ponderosa, Physocarpus malvaceus, Dicranum scoparium, Homalothecium nevadense, Tortula. On surface of three-foot diameter boulders at the south base of a 30-foot outcrop. Color: dark green. Growth Habit: sprawling tufts 1-6 inches diameter, some pendant. Abundance: common. Substrate: saxicolous. Phenology: gemmae.
