Annotated by John A. Christy, Nov 2018. Remarks: Verification Notes: Leaves not decurrent, alar cells inflated and well defined, reaching from margin to costa. Specimen smaller than typical. (JAC) Collector also identified Philonotis fontana and Bryum pseudotriquetrum.

Washington: Kittitas County: Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Cle Elum Ranger District. Okanogan-Wenatchee NF Fen Study, Tucquala Meadows. From Cle Elum, head northwest on Hwy 903 toward Roslyn (Salmon La Sac Rd). Continue past Cle Elum Lake. ¶Location Directions continued: turn right on FS 43303 and head toward Lake Hyas/Tucquala Meadows trailhead. Meadows are past Scatter Creek Campground. There is a small bunkhouse on the east side of the road. We parked there and walked down into the meadow. Elev. 3300 ft.

Aspect:215°. Slope: 15%. Light: full sun. Topograhpy: toeslope. ¶These are meadows that occur along the Cle Elum River. They are probably fairly wet during the spring but dry up in the summer. There are a few areas of permanent moisture around some spring wells. This plant was found in drier habitats. ¶Associated species: ABAM, ACMI2, ACCO4, AQFO, POBI6, CAHAS, CAUT, CAMI12, CIED, DELPH, DOJE, EPGL4, EQAR, ERAN6, FRVI, GAAP2, HEMA80, JUEN, LICO, LOIN5, LUPO2, MAST4, MIGU, MITR4, OESA, PEBR, PEGR2, PICO, PIMO3, PIPO, PLDI3, PRVU, PSME, SASC, SASI2, SETR, SOCA12, SPDO, THOC. ¶ Substrate: humus.¶Location Notes: plants were found on the ground in a relatively dry meadow interspersed with small streams. TRAR2, VAAL3, VECA2, VIGL. Substrate: terricolous.
