On a hillside with sandy loam soil; tended to be on open rocky patches; collection site had various lichens and was dominated by Artemisia nova and sparsley populated by Pediocatus simpsonii, phlox hoodi, and Tetraneuris acaulis var. caespitosa. Fairly abundent in areas of open rock but not observed in more vegetative areas; flowers 0-10+ heads which close when cold and windy.

Found just west of the silt bluffs (hoodoos). Plants with pale yellow flowers (photographs appear white with purplish tinged backs of ligules). This is the only population with this colour seen in Yukon. Photographed. Accuracy 12 m. Found from here to 60.82877N -135.84756W 701m acc. 6m. 3 plants taken by Chris Lee , Jeannette Whitton Lab, UBC July 4, 2010. In full flower. 10 duplicates (UBC; CAN).
